There is something about a new year that brings hope to all. The new year is a blank slate that is before us just waiting for our lives to write upon it. So many begin the year by making a conscious effort to seek the face of God for his direction. We seek a fresh anointing from God in our lives. We ask for the wind of His Holy Spirit to blow upon us.
There is something about the air after a fresh rain. Life has been breathed into the earth. The wind of the Holy Spirit is like that fresh rain, blowing through the cobwebs of the cares of this world that may have begun to stick to us and weigh us down.

When the water is troubled
One recent Friday evening while in church service and we were sharing through testimony about the blessings of God, someone began singing a song of thanksgiving. It was while singing that song that we all began to really worship God and to seek Him.
While we were in praise, the scripture came to me about the man who sat by the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-18). I said to God "as you trouble the water, don't forget about me". "As you trouble the water, set me free; heal me; deliver me; wash me".
As the healing waters flow God heal my mind. God heal my spirit. So many things have occurred on just this week, that has caused stress on my spirit. But when God touches me with his healing hand of love the negativeness of the past week is removed. God's healing touch strengthens my spirit. I am made strong. I am renewed.
So I ask God to set me free from the chains of the day, of the week, that may bind me to the spirit of heaviness. I want to be free from any chains that may hold me back from sharing the love of God for fear of rejection. Set me free from chains of negative reactions from accusations by individuals I'm in contact with; from their negative words and behaviors that may cause me to be defensive. God, as you trouble the water, set me free.
Whenever the Word of God comes to you, whether audibly through an individual or written or in song, grab hold to the Word and find strength, deliverance, and healing. When you see the water troubled - step in and be made whole.
